About us

Antelope Valley Medical Center (AVMC) proudly serves as a crucial resource for new mothers and infants in Northern Los Angeles County.  As a designated Breast Milk Collection Center affiliated with the Mothers’ Milk Bank California for over ten years, AVMC is dedicated to promoting the health and nutrition of babies. Serving as the only Labor & Delivery and Level IIIB Neonatal Intensive Care Unit within a 50-mile radius, we recognize the critical importance of this service.

Since its establishment, AVMC has collected over 25,000 ounces of donated breast milk. Each May, in celebration of World Human Milk Donation Day, we host a milk drive to honor local donor. This year we honored, a three-time donor who has contributed nearly 5,000 ounces and counting. This initiative underscores our ongoing commitment to supporting infant health through community participation.

As one of only four designated collection sites in Los Angeles County, AVMC collaborates closely with the Mothers Milk Bank California (MMB California) to provide essential services to the Antelope Valley and surrounding areas. AVMC ensures that all donated breast milk collected is safely transported to MMB California for pasteurization and distribution to infants in need, ensuring they receive crucial nutrients and immune protection vital for their growth and development.
